MATCHASOUNDS 019: MARCH 2020

It’s March!!!! My birthday month!!!!

I originally wrote this post before I went to Okeechobee a few weeks ago, but given the current state of the world, it felt necessary to rewrite it. I had been very eagerly looking forward to March for so many reasons – kicking off festival season with Okeechobee, Daylight Savings Time, Nowrouz, celebrating my birthday in Carmel with all of my best friends. We used to refer to March as “Miracle Month,” a joke we started a few years ago when I studied abroad, but it’s safe to say this month has been anything but a miracle.

I, also, must apologize for my lack of a February playlist this year (but here’s last year’s).  Time has really gotten away from me, which is both good and bad.  I’d also been weeks behind on RHOA, Vanderpump, Who Weekly, Summer House, etc. – so you know it’s been real. Not to worry, though, because I’ve had a chance to catch up on each of them.

It will definitely be a strange birthday. I’m currently in Chicago at my mom’s for the time being, so it’s weird to not be able to be with any of my friends. However, this will be the first time I’ve been with my parents on my birthday in seven years. Really being in the middle of my 20s is so scary and so exciting all at the same time.  I feel that I’m truly fully coming into my own and feeling more powerful and confident than I ever really have!  This is especially exciting considering how much has changed in the last year.

I present to you this month’s Matcha Sounds.  This one is a bit more electro and experimental, bringing together so many of my favorite names in music.  I love putting these playlists together for so many reasons, but my most favorite is that I get to curate a group of sounds that you really might not have thought of working well together.

Music is such a powerful tool, and I hope this brings some light into your days. Remember to wash your hands, stay home, socially and physically distance, eat clean, sweat for 30-60 in a day, call your friends, etc etc etc. Sending so much love to y’all, and see you in April.
