SOME PARTING THOUGHTS ON 2019
This year has been super crazy and full of so many changes. I’m in a much better place than I’ve been in the last few years, and it’s taken so much work to get here. I’m constantly working to make these things common in my life. It’s the lessons along the way that have helped sculpt me into the woman I am about to enter 2020.

Here are some of the most important things I’ve learned:
Just because life is short does not at all mean that you deserve an unhappy life. Yes, there are always curveballs, but you can decide how to react to those.
You have to truly learn how to only focus on what you can control. This is an ever-learning process, but the more you practice it, the happier you’ll become.
Practicing gratitude throughout your day will do amazing things for you. You’ll stop to smell the roses more and remember what enriches this journey.
Radiating positivity is fucking POWERFUL!!!!!!!!! It really is so true that you attract what you put out. The more positivity to release into the universe, the more it will give back to you.
You have to be able to understand what creates chaos in your life and do what you can to change that. This can mean a lot of reflection and talking, asking for help and coming to terms with some difficult things.
Surrounding yourself with people who truly genuinely care for and about you is so so, and I cannot stress this enough, so important. These are the people who you would always make time for and them with you - no matter the circumstance.
Honesty is very powerful and can help you release a lot of tension. This helps open up room for some challenging or impactful conversations. It’s also great to ease your mind.
Music is an undeniable force. Communities around music have played a huge role in helping me grow and heal in an indescribable way.
Saying yes can open doors, but that doesn’t mean saying no comes without power. You know yourself better than anyone else. It’s ok to turn things or people down if your heart isn’t 100% in it.
Getting back to nature will bring you a new sense of sense and a newer energy. Take off your shoes and roam. There’s so much Mother Earth will give back.
It’s okay to do things for yourself without having to justify them or apologize. If something or someone makes you happy (in a way that enriches your life), you shouldn’t feel guilty to embrace that.
Adjusting the way you say things can also totally change the game. Rather than saying “I’m sorry for being an inconvenience,” try something like “thank you for taking time to hear me out and help.”
Telling people you genuinely appreciate them goes a long way. Thank them for the small and big things. No matter the magnitude, these moments will do so much good.
Taking time to listen to your mind, body and spirit is vital to living a good life. When one is off, everything goes awry. Understand where there is imbalance and do what you can to help even the scales.
Cutting out negative people, things and media will ease your mind immensely. The more you focus on things that get you heated, the more stirred up you’ll become. Focus on surrounding yourself with people and things that bring a smile to your face.
Depression and anxiety can have a lot of control, but they are not your whole identity. You have the opportunity to own your story. Some days a much harder than others, and it’s good to start with small victories.

I can’t believe we’re just a few days away from a new year and decade, and all of these lessons really hit something deep in me I hope to carry to next year. I really am grateful to have made it to where I am today. Six moths ago, I would’ve never believed where I’d be, physically, mentally, emotionally.
I’m sooooo appreciative to everyone who’s genuinely been there for me this year - especially at my deepest pits. It’s all the small gestures to the long conversations to meals we shared to songs you sent me that really helped me get thru. I legit get a tear in my eye when I think about how lucky I am to have this circle of people in my life.
I saw a clairvoyant a few months ago who said they could tell that I carry a ton of hurt and betrayal. Thru that session and in my own work afterwards, I feel I’ve come to a better place where I’ve broken those shackles and can move freely on my journey. My mind is clearer, my heart is fuller, and I truly do feel lighter.
Like I wrote in my letter last year, I try to do things that would make 15 year old Nadia proud. And I’m very happy to report that I think she’d be pretty fucking stoked to see where I am now.
